Most enemies will respawn if you move off. But adding depth to the combat makes the whole experience feel richer, and those boss fights and other bad guy tussles help break up some of the longer stretches of intense platforming. General tips: You don’t actually need to grind in Ori, but it never hurts to top off your experience bar to the next level if you’re approaching it. Dash is a passive ability, and does not need to be equipped to use. Unlike in Blind Forest, Ori can dash in the air as soon as Dash is acquired. Dash lets Ori charge either right or left quickly. Although this game has a lot more combat than its predecessor, the focus is still on platforming. Dash (Will of the Wisps) is an ability found in Ori and the Will of the Wisps. Now, don’t expect Will of the Wisps to suddenly feel like an action-focused Metroidvania akin to Hollow Knight or Symphony of the Night. If you’re looking purely from a DE vs original game perspective, sure, there are a few places where having access to DE skills (Dash and Grenade) and their respective ability tree upgrades (notably Air Dash and Charge Dash) can change the gameplay in the vanilla areas, since those areas weren’t designed with those skills in mind. the Water Breath is unlocked just with 3 points (if i remember), so this one (Dash Light) need to be unlocked like the Water Breath, cuz there is not requeriments in Hability Tree. The double jump It is unlocked discovering the Ancient Tree. You have enough health that almost nothing is a one hit kill, and way more save points than you need. There is just the Light Burst and the other one as new hability. Bash and Stomp make combat encounters trivial most of the time. Just like the rest of the game, the boss fights are cinematic and epic. Once you have your Dash and Double Jump, you no longer need to watch helplessly as Ori falls to his death every time you miscalculate a jump. With the new focus on combat, Will of the Wisps features many more boss fights than its predecessors, and I loved these encounters. You have an energy sword and bow, and you can unlock more weapons (like a powerful energy spear). But Will of the Wisps gives Ori a more robust offensive arsenal. I was fine with this at the time, since that allowed me to focus on the platforming. Before, attacking enemies just required you to mash a button to send out homing energy attacks. Compared to Blind Forest, Ori gets the biggest upgrade in the combat department.
